Because meaningful behaviour therapy isn’t about teaching someone to appear less challenging.
It’s about helping them build more effective ways to get their needs met, participate in their world and move towards the life they want.
We look at what the behaviour may be communicating or achieving, the skills and opportunities currently available to the person, and what might need to change around them.
And More
AND More
LESS
LESS
Expanding the skills and opportunities that make it easier to meaningfully take part in home, school, community and social life.
Developing practical skills that increase autonomy and independence in everyday life.
Building skills that support meaningful interaction and participation with others.
Developing skills and supports for navigating emotions and challenging situations.
Building more effective ways to express needs, preferences and ideas.
Depending on the individual, therapy may focus on
A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO BEHAVIOUR THERAPY
Supporting changing expectations and environments across major developmental stages.
Our approach is constructional, strengths-based and evidence-informed.
That means we don’t begin with a list of things someone needs to do less of. We identify the skills they already have, understand where support could make a meaningful difference, and build from there.
A behaviour being different, inconvenient or unexpected doesn’t automatically mean it needs intervention.
Before targeting a behaviour, we assess whether it is meaningfully affecting the person’s quality of life, safety or access to activities and experiences they value.
That helps us pinpoint where support can genuinely make a difference and avoid spending valuable therapy time, energy or funding simply ticking boxes.
Useful skills need to work beyond a therapy room.
Support can be tailored across home, school, community and social environments, allowing us to work on skills where they are actually needed and understand the conditions surrounding them.
That might mean developing communication skills during everyday routines. Building emotional regulation strategies around situations that are genuinely difficult. Preparing for the transition to school, high school or adulthood. Or creating opportunities to practise social and daily living skills in the places they’ll actually be used.
The goal isn’t simply to perform a skill in therapy. It’s to make that skill useful in life.

LIFE CHANGES.
ADULTHOOD
Rather than waiting until a transition becomes overwhelming, support can focus on strengthening the foundational, social, emotional and practical skills that help someone participate more successfully in their changing world.
Early learning
Different stages of life bring different environments, expectations and challenges. Behaviour Therapy can provide developmental and transition support through:
Starting school
High school
Leaving school
You don’t need to have it figured out before you contact us.
We can talk through what you’re looking for and help determine which Think Bright Therapy service is most appropriate for your needs and goals.
Think Bright Therapy offers Behaviour Therapy through both NDIS-funded and privately funded pathways.
Privately funded Behaviour Therapy offers greater flexibility because support is not tied specifically to NDIS plan goals or reporting requirements. This can make it particularly useful for targeted skill-building, emerging needs, short-term or intensive support, developmental goals, or families looking for a more adaptable therapy model.
We help individuals with disabilities enhance their self-understanding and autonomy to be leaders in their own life and mental health.
For individuals requiring Specialist Behaviour Support, delivered through Think Bright Therapy’s partnership with registered NDIS PBS provider To The Moon and Back.
